New media, interactivity, social networking, YouTube, Generation Y, the always on society, Twitter….how do you make sense of so many new tools, new ways of communicating, new ways of engaging with your audience?

The lines between traditional video and new media are now so indistinct as to be meaningless, and the only way to recommend a particular solution is by understanding the end goal.

For example, a powerful and moving narrative about lives lost through solvent abuse is best told through video – a linear medium that can gradually draw an audience in and change their behaviour by helping them relate to a tragic situation.

Conversely, introducing a pitch team to a prospective new client may involve video, but be delivered as an interactive Flash presentation, with supporting facts and figures sequenced in an engaging way, delivered on a DVD or on a web page
